Job Summary

Join our NHS Finance team as an Associate Finance Business Support Officer.

About the Role

As an Associate Finance Business Support Officer, you will be part of a team working under the Business Partnering Division, supporting other divisions in various accounting and financial tasks. The post holder will deliver professional and timely financial and business support and be fully integrated with the core activities within the organisation. You will contribute to developing a culture of strong financial stewardship and control within the Trust, promoting economy, efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of the Trust’s business. This role represents an excellent opportunity to use and develop your skills within a varied and busy environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support other divisions in accounting and financial tasks.
  • Deliver professional and timely financial and business support.
  • Integrate fully with the core financial activities of the organisation.
  • Contribute to a culture of financial stewardship and control.
  • Respond to changing demands of the service with reliability and flexibility.
  • Collaborate with the Business Partnering Division and other teams as required.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Qualified AAT Technician or Part Qualified Accountant and member of an accountancy organisation.
  • Essential: Reliable and flexible, able to respond to changing demands.
  • Desired: Previous NHS experience.
Location

You will be based at either Newcourt House in Exeter or Devonshire House in Barnstaple, with possible inter‑site travel. The role operates in a hybrid office environment with a minimum of two days in the office.

Working Pattern

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.

Contract Details

Fixed‑term contract of 8 months. Two separate roles exist: one ending 01/07/2026, the other ending 14/11/2026.
