Job summary

HSBC in the UK is seeking an experienced Associate Enterprise Architect to join the team. This role provides a pathway into enterprise architecture, working with senior architects, coaching from the Lead Enterprise Architect, and exposure to portfolio management, strategy, architecture tooling and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering, infrastructure, cloud, data, cybersecurity or technology delivery.
• Understanding of UK banking products, operations, regulation and technology.
• Ability to organise information and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Motivation to build a long-term career in enterprise architecture.
• Ability to connect business strategy, technology, data, risk and governance.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Builds relationships across business, engineering, data, security, risk and control.

Responsibilities

• Manage, analyse and improve the UK application and technology portfolio.
• Maintain accurate architecture data, including ownership, lifecycle, dependencies, strategic alignment and technology risks.
• Support application portfolio reviews, rationalisation assessments and decommissioning plans.
• Contribute to architecture views, technology strategies, standards and roadmaps.
• Prepare materials for architecture governance forums, including decision papers, recommendations and action logs
• Track architecture decisions, risks, exceptions, waivers and dependencies, escalating issues when required
• Collaborate with business, engineering, data, security, risk and control teams to assess proposed technology changes
• Research emerging technologies and industry developments, communicating their potential impact to UK Technology
