There is an opportunity for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. This is a senior role for an engineer who enjoys leading technically challenging projects, managing client relationships, and mentoring a team of building services professionals.

They work on a wide variety of projects across the UK and internationally, spanning sectors such as residential, commercial, mixed‑use, leisure, education, heritage, and cultural developments. This role offers the chance to shape projects from concept through to delivery while contributing to the growth and strategic direction of their Electrical Building Services team.

Key Responsibilities
Project and Client Leadership
  • Lead a portfolio of Electrical Building Services projects from concept to delivery.
  • Act as the main client contact on key projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to high technical and commercial standards.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and manage fees effectively.
  • Build strong, long‑term client relationships.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day workflow, resource planning, and team coordination.
  • Support senior engineers' professional growth while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Technical Expertise
  • Act as a specialist in Electrical Building Services Engineering.
  • Provide expert guidance on design strategy, procurement, risk management, and technical challenges.
  • Apply analytical and design skills across a variety of electrical systems and building types.
  • Promote best practice in digital delivery, CAD, and BIM processes.
Business Development and Strategy
  • Support client development and help secure new opportunities.
  • Represent them at meetings, pitches, and industry events.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements.
About You
  • Chartered Engineer with 10+ years' experience in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Proven record delivering MEP systems across different building types.
  • Experienced as a Project Engineer or Project Lead.
  • Confident presenting to clients and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable managing commercial and financial aspects of projects.
