Associate Director, Risk & Insurance Due Diligence – M&A & Transaction Solutions, Manchester

Are you a seasoned Commercial Insurance professional with experience gained in large-scale M&A due diligence? Are you keen to join and lead advisory services in the pre-acquisition and pre-sale environment within a leading specialist M&A practice? This hybrid opportunity is based with Aon’s dynamic M&A Transactions Solutions (AMATS) regional practice.

What the day will look like
  • Undertaking insurance due diligence advisory projects for private equity, infrastructure, and corporate clients in support of their M&A processes. The diligence process includes a review of a target’s exposure and insurance-related information provided in the data room, interviews with management, collection and tracking of requested information, gleaning and collation of technical insurance commentary and production of high-quality reports.
  • Driving project management engagement.
  • Liaising with clients and other advisers.
  • Coordinating internal Aon expertise/resources/solutions across various practices and geographies and building an internal network.
  • Determining opportunities for cross-selling other Aon products, services, and solutions.
  • Management of post-close programme placement.
  • Building and managing regional relationships in the M&A market to facilitate revenue and growth.
  • Working as part of the regional AMATS team to support and promote our services in the local market.

The role provides a great opportunity for contributing to the development of more junior members of the team, along with building a strong internal and external network. Key to the role is the co-ordination of resources, technical advice and solutions across various geographies and practices within Aon. Regular interface with the Client and their advisers is a key facet of the role.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Proven general insurance experience, such as property & casualty insurance experience (broking or underwriting) across core or specialty insurance sectors, including relevant qualifications (e.g. ACII full or part qualified).
  • M&A transaction, due diligence and/or project management experience is essential.
  • Experience in providing risk and insurance advice in the context of an M&A scenario is desirable.
