Job summary

Aqua Consultants is seeking an Associate Director to lead high-impact advisory assurance projects and deliver trusted assurance across the asset lifecycle. You will drive governance, risk, and regulatory reporting workstreams while mentoring teams and presenting findings to senior leadership.

The role emphasizes capital programme assurance, ISO 55001 compliance, and clear communication of complex technical information to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience in assurance, internal audit, compliance, risk, or regulatory reporting.
• Experience delivering assurance on capital programmes, major projects, and regulatory submissions.
• Understanding of asset management in utilities or infrastructure is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present findings to senior audiences.
• Ability to apply best practice and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assurance process development and enhancement of Aqua's approach to audits.
• Evaluate governance frameworks and risk controls for capital projects and operations.
• Engage stakeholders across Asset Planning, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Regulation, and Capital Delivery.
• Provide independent assurance on regulator submissions (Ofwat, Environment Agency, IPI).
• Deliver assurance over end-to-end asset lifecycle and ISO 55001 compliance.
• Audit capital programmes’ feasibility, design, delivery, and governance processes.
