Associate Director – Asset Management Transformation
The Asset Management Transformation team has growing and diverse membership, with expertise in supporting clients with making better decisions to maximise value from built or natural assets over their whole lifecycle. We are seeking an Associate Director to join its leadership, who is excited about joining a diverse and growing team and driving further success and outstanding client experience within an inclusive and people‑focused environment. The successful candidate will bring experience of asset management transformation as well as market intelligence within our relevant industries (Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Utilities, Defence, etc.). This will be aligned with strong business development and sales generation experience in a consulting environment, team leadership, stakeholder engagement and relationship development skills, and a desire to work in a flexible and agile environment. The role offers the opportunity to play a key role in our growth, and a platform for senior leadership in our business.
- Leading significant (and multiple) client projects and accounts from sales / bidding to solution design and activity planning, successful delivery and knowledge capture. This sales and commission leadership will include management of multi‑disciplinary teams and achieving successful commercial outcomes for Arcadis.
- Diagnosing and tackling complex asset‑centric related issues, across large‑scale consulting engagements, designing and implementing solutions that demonstrate benefits and value delivered.
- Leading teams that utilise insights and analysis of markets, trends, risks and opportunities to inform potential solutions, recommendations and outcomes to clients and stakeholders.
- Leads business development and sales for our value propositions, including leadership of relevant bids, to significantly contribute to the growth of our Asset Management Transformation capability and the wider Business Advisory business unit.
- Managing the delivery of exceptional client experience from project mobilisation through to handover, focusing on understanding client’s needs, building lasting relationships and delivering on our promises.
- Being a subject‑matter expert and thought leader within one or more of our value propositions, taking ownership for the continuous development of our offerings.
- Active member of the UK&I and Global asset management community of practice, supporting continuous development of our solutions and delivery approach.
- Provide line management, coaching and mentoring to future talent within our consultant community to support their development.
- Support and own aspects of our team's strategy and capability building activities.
- Support the ‘on‑project’ development of team members’ skills to help them achieve their career goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable track record of leading asset management or management consulting projects in a relevant sector (Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Utilities, Defence, etc.).
- Being considered a thought leader in one or more phases of the asset lifecycle (strategy and planning, design and build, operations and maintenance, or decommissioning), and in particular to one or more of the following services:
- Asset management operating model design & transformation programmes
- ISO 55001 aligned asset management system development
- Regulatory business planning and adaptive planning
- Asset portfolio investment prioritisation & optimisation
- Benefit‑led prioritisation of asset management improvements, innovation and business change programmes
- Operational efficiency improvement
- Asset information and data maturity improvement
- Significant experience in business development, bidding and securing sales in a consulting environment.
- A strong understanding of how management consulting projects are typically delivered – from project start & mobilisation, through to delivering client requirements and expectations.
- Exceptional communication skills with experience of developing and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships up to senior levels (ideally including Board/Exec level stakeholders).
- Excellent team leadership, collaboration and commercial management skills.
- Demonstrable ability to understand and assess business problems and build and communicate practical improvement recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Relevant industry qualifications to Business Advisory or Asset Management are preferable, and/or a member of a relevant industry body, or the desire to work towards one; including, but not limited to, MCA (Management Consultants Association) and/or IAM (Institute of Asset Management).
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 + benefits
Location: London (Hybrid; international travel)
