Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Associate Delivery Manager to strengthen our Digital Technical Competence team. The role focuses on supporting product and service delivery by removing blockers, promoting agile practices and collaboration, with hands-on experience guided by mentorship. The role is hybrid, with two office days per week.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams across planning, reporting and governance, helping to maintain momentum and ensure outcomes matter.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience planning and organising work across the delivery lifecycle.
• Proactive approach to identifying risks, issues and blockers.
• Some experience working within an Agile team and using Agile methodologies and frameworks.
• Familiarity with delivery tools such as MS Project, Jira, Miro, Azure DevOps, Power BI and Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordinating delivery activities, maintaining visibility and momentum across the team.
• Support Agile ceremonies and keep delivery boards, documentation and artefacts up to date.
• Identify and help resolve blockers, escalating risks and issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate reporting on delivery progress, risks, dependencies and key metrics.
• Support compliance, service assessments and stakeholder communication in line with relevant GDS/DDaT and National Highways standards.

Job description

As part of the development of our Digital Services function, we are recruiting to strengthen internal digital capability within the Digital Technical Competence team. These roles are central to building sustainable in-house expertise that supports the design, development, and delivery of digital solutions across the transport network.

A key focus of this campaign is creating new opportunities. As a result, we are recruiting an Associate Delivery Manager. This is a pivotal role that will support the delivery of products and services by helping teams maintain momentum and focus. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will assist in removing blockers, facilitating agile practices, and promoting collaboration and continuous improvement. You'll develop your delivery management skills through hands-on experience, supported by guidance and mentorship, while contributing to the successful delivery of outcomes that matter.

This is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week in the office, based at any National Highways office location.
