Job description

The Credit Real Estate (CRE) Origination & Structuring Team is a coverage business within the Real Estate & Housing business, a key part of the Client Solutions Group ("CSG"). CSG is responsible for the overall management of relationships for Corporate and Financial Institutional clients whose turnover exceeds £100m. Lloyds is a leading provider of commercial real estate finance and the CRE Origination & Structuring team delivers efficiently structured debt solutions to domestic and international private equity, insurance, pension, sovereign wealth, family office sponsors, listed companies and private investors that are tailored to their investment objectives. We originate, structure, implement and distribute a wide range of products from term investment loans and revolving credit facilities to more sophisticated development, bridging and business plan driven financings. We're able to provide fully underwritten facilities of all sizes against all major asset classes on both a secured and unsecured basis. Sector knowledge while advantageous is not a pre‑requisite. We are looking for a highly motivated, mobile, organised individual who is keen to develop their real estate debt structuring skills and progress themselves through professional qualifications with a view to moving forward their career aspirations.

Responsibilities
  • Support Associate Directors and Directors in their origination activities, proactively identifying opportunities and clients where Lloyds products and services are of likely interest.
  • Deliver market leading turnaround to our client base, by reviewing analysing and presenting new deal opportunities internally within agreed timeframes.
  • Assist with drafting term sheets to a high standard, ensuring complete accuracy of "boiler plate" elements and contributing to completeness of structure to mitigate risk to a level reflective of return.
  • Prepare financial models to a high standard, ensuring complete accuracy of inputs and clear outputs to assist with structuring robust facilities to support the objectives of clients.
  • Manage as a key member of the team any changes to Bank policies, systems, processes and working practices to achieve operational improvements e.g. Simplification and any issues are satisfactorily resolved. Supervisory Oversight process to be followed alongside standard credit governance - renewals etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the appropriate team when appropriate to ensure legal and other documentation is aligned with credit sanction, Bank and Regulatory policy to minimise risk.
  • Strong adherence to MIFID, Financial Promotions, FCA regulation in the context of being the 'Best Bank for our Customers' and Helping Britain Prosper.
Qualifications
  • Experience: real estate finance transactions is beneficial, with development financing experience particularly advantageous.
  • Relationship management – collaborate, engage and encourage a broad range of stakeholders and personalities, for both external clients and internal partners.
  • Strong Excel skills: Essential for data analysis and cash flow modelling.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines: Crucial for managing varied responsibilities, delivering results under tight deadlines, and planning and organising to ensure client and team day-to-day requirements are met.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and spoken.
  • Self‑motivation and strong work ethic: Important for success in this role.
