Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting an Associate Cost Manager / Commercial Manager for prestigious infrastructure projects in Greater Manchester. You will bring extensive cost management experience to monitor, forecast and report costs to stay within budget.

Administering NEC3 contracts (Option C) and post-contract activities, you will lead teams, manage change, and drive forecast accuracy. MRICS is preferred; strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven Cost / Commercial Management experience.
• MRICS (preferred).
• Experience with NEC3 contracts, especially Option C - Target Cost.
• Post-contract administration experience.
• Experience on major programmes and projects.
• Experience on infrastructure projects (rail, air, marine/ports, utilities, highways).
• Experience leading and managing teams.

• Establishing relationships with clients, colleagues and other involved parties.

We are looking to recruit an Associate Cost Manager / Commercial Manager for our prestigious infrastructure-based projects. As an experienced individual, you will bring a wealth of experience in cost management ready to apply your existing knowledge in a new and dynamic environment. We seek candidates comfortable with challenging conversations and a consultative approach to bring out the best in their team and clients.

Main Purpose of Role

• Establishing friendly, professional, and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other involved parties.
• Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
• Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion within the budget.
• Proactively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring applications are made correctly and timely.
• Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
• Managing contract change effectively, ensuring projects stay within governance and adopting best practices.
• Driving improvements in forecast and budget accuracy.
• Providing sound commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders.
• Ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
• Leading people and commissions as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven Cost / Commercial Management experience
• Preferably MRICS
• NEC3 contracts (especially Option C - Target Cost)
• Post contract administration
