Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) in London seeks an Associate Cost Manager to provide core Cost Management services across projects, acting as main client liaison and supporting the existing team. The role requires strong infrastructure/Commercial delivery experience and a proactive, client-focused approach.

The position offers hybrid working arrangements, a competitive salary, and involvement in large-scale built environment projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline.
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body.

• Manage property and business support issues in the Region, promoting efficiency and best practice.
• Control the budget for property and infrastructure in the Region.
• Promote the use and continuous improvement of Intelligence; carry out local QA and H&S audits within the Region.
• Participate in the development of Rider Levett Bucknall strategy.
• Oversee ongoing revenue, costs and profit and delivery of annual and medium-term plans.
• Resource planning to deliver customer satisfaction profitably.
• Deliver all aspects of project delivery and monitor technical performance.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing all core Cost Management services on a number of interesting projects while acting as main client liaison as well as providing support to the existing team in the delivery of projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage property and business support issues in the Region, promoting efficiency, effectiveness and best practice.
• Control the budget for property and infrastructure in the Region.
• Promote the use and continuous improvement of Intelligence, carry out local QA and H&S audits within the Region to ensure conformance.
• Participate in the development of Rider Levett Bucknall strategy
• Operational management, responsible for ongoing revenue, costs and profit and delivering annual and medium-term business plans.
• Resource planning - establish and maintaining adequate resources to deliver customer satisfaction profitably.
• Take responsibility for all aspects of the delivery of projects. Be aware of our technical performance on projects, regularly review projects with staff and customers.
• Keep up to date with current thinking and best practice within your discipline.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline.
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body.

Experience

• Strong experience in Infrastructure and/or Commercial.
• Strong technical delivery experience.
• Previously employed by a consultancy or end user client.
• Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts.
