Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
  • Run projects end‑to‑end, liaising directly with clients, architects and external partners.
  • Oversee infrastructure design for roads, drainage, SuDS and building‑related civil works.
  • Represent the consultancy at client meetings, design reviews and site visits.
  • Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and technical reports.
  • Produce fee proposals and support business development activities.
  • Coordinate design meetings and manage input from internal teams and external partners.
  • Drive quality assurance and ensure compliance with UK design standards and regulations.
  • Support recruitment, training and succession planning as the team grows.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng preferred).
  • At least 7 years' experience in civil or structural engineering design.
  • Proven background in roads, drainage or other infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil design software.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, QA procedures and health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing technical quality with commercial awareness.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and engaging in business development.
