Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an experienced environmental professional to lead coordination and delivery of EIA and related environmental work in Scotland. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to drive environmental outcomes, mentor colleagues, and engage with clients across energy, transport and defence sectors.

The role offers flexible/hybrid working arrangements and development opportunities through training and mentoring to progress your career in a fast-paced industry.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Masters in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Chartered status.
  • Experience with major infrastructure projects and EIA processes.
  • Leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work at other AtkinsRéalis or client locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination and delivery of environmental work (EIA, options appraisals, environmental management).
  • Champion high environmental standards within multidisciplinary projects.
  • Collate and edit information from multiple sources for clear reports.
  • Conduct own work to a high standard and review others’ work to budget and deadlines.
  • Manage clients’ needs in a confident, professional manner.
  • Lead bid preparation and develop new business areas for the team.
  • Engage in CPD per professional institute requirements.

You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, lead and coordinate Environmental Impacts Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business and mentor colleagues in the team. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an environmental or related discipline and have a comprehensive understanding of all the technical expertise required for an EIA. Your role
  • Leading on the coordination and delivery of environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams including EIA, options appraisals and environmental management.
  • Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental outcomes.
  • Collate and edit information from a range of sources to provide clear, well written reports.
  • Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
  • Able to manage clients' needs in a confident, professional manner.
  • Lead and support on bid preparation and develop new areas of business for the team.
  • Undertake Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute.
About you
  • Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject.
  • Chartered.
  • Experience working major infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical expertise.
  • Experience of leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively.
  • Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations.
  • Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
