We are looking for an inspirational Associate Assistant Headteacher - someone who can help us shape our All Age School - Ysgol Afon Wen. Located in Hawthorn, a village on the outskirts of Cardiff, our All Age 3-16 school is set in beautiful grounds on the bank of the River Taff. The school opened September 2024. Ysgol Afon Wen ensures every pupil succeeds irrelevant of age, ability, and background. This role involves the strategic development of a range of subjects that sit within our Innovation faculty. You will be supported by a strong team to ensure high standards are maintained across the faculty. Within the faculty there is a Deputy Head of faculty (Science Leader), and you will be supported by distinct subject leads. The role will be a demanding, but also a rewarding one, as your team will ignite the spark of innovation for our pupils. You will be part of the leadership team driving standards and supporting our pupils. We are looking to appoint a committed and skilled leader with responsibility for the innovation provision - from age 3 to 16. As the leader of the faculty, the successful candidate will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team formulating the aims and objectives of the school, particularly relating to their area of the curriculum. Applications are warmly welcomed from highly skilled, enthusiastic, and creative teachers who can model high expectations and who are able to support colleagues in developing their practice within our All Age school - Ysgol Afon Wen. The post holder would ideally be a Maths specialist, however leaders from other curriculum disciplines are welcomed to apply. We are looking for a leader who can demonstrate creativity, passion, commitment, and impact in their leadership, whilst driving forward the new fresh vision for our new school. The Headteacher and Governing Body are looking to appoint an enthusiastic leader with a passion for school improvement and exemplary classroom practice.
