Job summary

Aspire Leisure Centre is seeking an Assistive Technology support worker based at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, Salisbury. The role focuses on helping people paralysed by spinal cord injury regain independence through everyday technology and personalised support.

You will build relationships quickly, demonstrate patience, and share your skills with patients and colleagues. Training will be provided and flexible working options may apply.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships quickly with people and carers, showing patience while unlocking independence through everyday technology.
• Help people paralysed by spinal cord injury access phones, tablets and computers, sharing practical assistive tech skills.
• Provide training and support to users and carers, with willingness to learn and adapt to individual needs.

Could you help people paralysed by spinal cord injury regain their independence?

Aspire is a national charity supporting people who have been paralysed by spinal cord injury. Our Assistive Technology team are based within hospitals, working with newly injured patients and ensuring they have access to their phones, tablets and computers.

We’re looking for someone who can build relationships quickly and be patient while unlocking ways for people with a spinal cord injury to connect with others and gain independence through everyday technology. You will be a people-person, have strong problem-solving skills and a desire to help. You will be comfortable using technology and able to share your skills with others. Knowledge ofassistivetechnologies would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This role is 14 hours per week and based at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, Salisbury.
