Here at Chessington World of Adventures we are recruiting for an Assistant Zoo Education Officer to join our team! In this role, you will support the delivery of curriculum-linked workshops and talks for school groups from Early Years to Key Stage 5. Sessions take place both in our Education Centre and Woodland Discovery Centre, covering topics such as conservation, the natural world, physics, and business. You will also assist in creating educational resources, provide administrative support, and help evaluate workshops to ensure high-quality learning experiences. Outreach and guest engagement will form a key part of your role, promoting the zoo's conservation messages to all visitors. Additionally, the role involves scheduled Zoo Duty Manager responsibilities and occasional team leadership, working collaboratively with the wider zoo team to support smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Engaging public speaker with experience delivering educational content to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary conservation and zoological issues.
  • Collaborative team member who can confidently lead tasks or groups when required.
  • Highly adaptable and resilient.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional development, regularly seeking opportunities to build knowledge and skills.
  • Basic graphic design skills using Canva or similar platforms (desirable).
