Job summary

Paul Rhodes Bakery in London is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to oversee packing operations, maintain quality and safety standards, and help the team hit production targets. You will support training, shift planning and handovers, and work closely with the Packing/Warehouse Manager to drive efficiency and a positive culture.

The role requires experience in food manufacturing packing, strong organisational and leadership skills, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily packing operations with the Packing/Warehouse Manager.
• Monitor packing lines for accuracy, efficiency and quality.
• Coordinate shift schedules and staffing to meet production timelines.
• Onboard, train and coach the team.
• Collaborate with Technical, Production and Hygiene teams on food safety and health & safety compliance.
• Escalate issues affecting workflow, quality or team performance.
• Ensure stock rotation, labelling and traceability.
• Maintain a clean, safe packing area and support continuous improvements.
• Act as point of contact in the manager's absence.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the daily running of the packing department - overseeing packing activities, maintaining quality and safety standards, and helping the team hit production targets. The role includes supporting training, shift planning, and shift handovers, working closely with the Packing/Warehouse Manager to drive efficiency and a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Packing/Warehouse Manager in planning and supervising daily packing operations
• Monitor packing lines for accuracy, efficiency, and quality
• Coordinate shift schedules and staffing to meet production timelines
• Support onboarding, training, and coaching of the team
• Work with Technical, Production, and Hygiene teams on food safety and H&S compliance
• Escalate issues affecting workflow, quality, or team performance
• Ensure correct stock rotation, labelling, and traceability
• Maintain a safe, clean, organised packing floor
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Act as point of contact in the Packing/Warehouse Manager's absence
