Job summary

Adecco in London is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President for the Finance & Control Financial Reporting team. This role centers on reliable IFRS-compliant financial reporting, close collaboration with the broader finance function, and driving accuracy in reporting across the organisation.

The successful candidate will lead month-end/quarter-end closes, support audit activities, and deliver insightful analysis on expenses and assets to support decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in finance with emphasis on financial and management reporting.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and period-end close experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly closing processes with accruals and prepayments.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger corrections.
• Prepare and submit quarterly reporting packages in compliance with IFRS.
• Coordinate internal and external reports across teams.
• Serve as key contact during annual external audit.
• Collaborate with auditors, regulators and stakeholders to enhance governance.
• Provide detailed expense, headcount and fixed asset analysis.
• Identify issues and implement process improvements.
• Mentor and coach junior staff.

Our client, a prestigious organisation in the finance sector, is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President for their Finance & Control Financial Reporting team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-established and collaborative finance function that plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Vice President, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading and supporting monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accurate recording of accruals and prepayments.
• Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger corrections, ensuring proper classification of P&)L and balance sheet items.
• Preparing and submitting quarterly Head Office reporting packages in compliance with JGAAP/IFRS.
• Driving the preparation of internal and external reports while coordinating across internal teams.
• Acting as a key contact during the annual external audit process, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements.
• Collaborating with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to enhance governance and reporting accuracy.
• Supporting management with detailed expense, headcount, and fixed asset analysis, delivering insights for decision-making.
• Identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Providing guidance and coaching to junior staff to strengthen team capability.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in finance, with strong exposure to financial and management reporting, preferably in a banking environment.
• Advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of Power BI or Power Query as a desirable asset.
• Oracle system experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and experience is essential
• Strong technical knowledge across period-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Proven ability to analyse financial data, identify issues, and deliver effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• A collaborative spirit with a proactive approach to supporting colleagues.
