Responsibilities

What will you do in this role?

  • Administrative duties to assist the Upstream Energy underwriting team:
    • Maintenance of underwriting e-files.
    • Initiation, checking and management of data entry, premium booking, and credit control processes.
    • Liaising with various parties (operations team, accounting department, brokers) for premium issues such as premium reconciliation, outstanding premiums, and other accounting issues.
    • Liaising with brokers on new business and renewals and attending client presentations.
    • Logging of risk submissions received.
    • Tracking of policy renewals throughout the year, including sending out renewal reminders to brokers.
    • Working on account specific executive underwriting summaries.
  • Assisting with generation and checking of underwriting reports:
    • Checking of Daily Premium Movement reports.
    • Checking of Monthly Claim Movement reports.
    • Facilitating White Space / PPL submissions.
    • Ad hoc generation of underwriting reports as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures:
    • Sanctions screening and checks.
    • Attending to internal and external auditors’ enquiries.
  • Learning about the Insurance industry and Energy markets:
    • Work towards obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK), if this hasn’t yet been attained.
    • Market research of the Insurance and Offshore Renewable Energy industries.
    • Client research (for both potential and existing clients).
    • Attending client/broker meetings and/or virtual presentations.

What you need to have
  • Diploma / Degree holder
  • Preferably with 3+ years of relevant experience in the London Market, preferably within the Energy (Re)Insurance sector but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, Kofax PDF Editor and White Space/PPL.

Role Factors
