A healthcare provider in Shrewsbury is looking for an Assistant Technical Officer to oversee medical equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards. The successful applicant will have NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline and experience in a maintenance environment. Responsibilities include managing equipment stocks, performing fault finding, and assisting in staff training. This role requires excellent communication skills with both medical staff and suppliers. The position is predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but may involve working at other sites.
Medical Engineering currently has an Assistant Technical Officer vacancy based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Medical Engineering operates an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality system, so knowledge and experience of operating within these systems would benefit the department to maintain continuous improvement principles.
You will have previous experience of working in a maintenance environment, using tools and equipment on a range of different equipment providing maintenance services including basic fault finding, with a minimum qualification of NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
The department manages medical devices for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and other external organisations. Though the vacancy is primarily based at the RSH & PRH, the post holder may be required to work at other sites.
Excellent communication skills are required to interact with medical, nursing and technical staff.
