Job description

Vacancy at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking an individual to join the Pharmacy-based Aseptic Services team at Liverpool University Hospitals. The role involves supporting the delivery of aseptic production services at our highly regarded Aseptic Production Unit (APU) and the new site at Royal Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with daily operations of the aseptic service, including Parenteral Nutrition, Chemotherapy, and Intravenous Additive Service.
  2. Perform environmental procedures such as transfer disinfection, daily room readings, refrigerator temperature checks, weekly settle plates and swabs, and cleaning duties.
  3. Ensure all documentation is completed, filed, and stored correctly.
  4. Carry out aseptic processes in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and GMP principles.
  5. Report errors or incidents immediately to senior staff.
  6. Participate in the safe disposal of drugs and perform basic computer duties like label generation.
  7. Engage in ongoing training and professional development activities.
  8. Adhere to health and safety legislation and departmental policies.
  9. Assist with portering duties and use of pharmacy tracker systems.
  10. Support departmental services during holidays and outside regular hours as required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and high standards of practice.
