Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust Pharmacy Department is hiring an Assistant Technical Officer to join the pharmacy stores team. 37.5 hours per week with full training towards an NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant qualification or Buttercups Support Staff Course for Pharmacy Stock Management.

Applications from Graduate visa holders are welcome but visa sponsorship is not available. The role covers ward stock tops, order processing, pharmacy robot operations, goods receipt, and reception duties across hospital

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant qualification or Buttercups course (or training provided) for Pharmacy Stock Management.
• DBS check may be required for staff working with medicines.

Responsibilities

• Ward Services Role - Stock top ups, medication returns.
• Distribution Role - Processing orders and to-follows, picking orders using the pharmacy robot and packing orders for wards, customers (under an MHRA license).
• Goods Receipt Role - Signing for and booking in goods, dealing with incorrect delivered goods, troubleshooting pharmacy robot, loading the robot.
• Reception Role (providing cover) - Greeting patients and staff, booking in prescriptions, filing prescriptions.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to become part of our team at East Cheshire NHS Trust Pharmacy Department. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Assistant Technical Officers within the pharmacy stores department. You will provide safe, timely, appropriate and high quality pharmaceutical services for patients and staff and assist in the distribution of medicines to the hospital wards and clinics throughout the Trust. Full training will be provided in all areas along with working towards an NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant qualification or Buttercups Support Staff Course for Pharmacy Stock Management. Hours per week: 37.5 We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.
