A leading automotive company in Warwick is seeking an Assistant Tax Accountant to support tax compliance and reporting. This role includes preparing VAT returns and assisting with corporate tax. Salary: £30,000–£35,000 (dependent on experience)

In this role, you’ll help manage tax returns and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. With tasks spanning VAT, corporate tax and PAYE Settlement Agreement returns, you’ll become an essential contributor in month-end tax reporting and statutory accounts. Supported by the team, you’ll be encouraged to develop new skills and bring forward ideas that can streamline our processes and enhance our impact.

Ideally, you are currently pursuing or already hold a tax or accountancy qualification. You’re naturally detail‑oriented, organised and motivated to learn, with a genuine interest in finance and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
Commitment to building your professional qualifications you may already be undertaking, or be ready to start, an accountancy or tax qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or CTA. Study Support will be provided.
Previous experience within a finance team, where you’ve gained an understanding of core financial processes.
Confident Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups, and the ability to interpret data accurately.
Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, or the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
An interest in Power BI and a desire to learn how to use it for data visualisation and reporting (previous experience is not required).
Curiosity to learn more about tax and accounting regulations and apply that knowledge in practice.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach to your work.
You’ll report to the Tax Manager and work closely with the Tax Accountant as part of a small, close‑knit team within the wider Financial Control & Accounting function.
As Assistant Tax Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting tax compliance and reporting activities across several UK entities. Your work will help ensure accuracy, transparency and compliance in all areas of tax accounting.
