Job summary

WATES is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Surveyor to support the delivery of specialist projects in Enfield, England. This role offers hands-on exposure to commercial management, cost control, and contract administration, making it a prime opportunity for those eager to grow their careers in construction.

You will work closely with experienced Surveyors, assisting with tasks like tender preparation, budget management, attending site visits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. A degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields is needed to apply.

Qualifications

• Degree or working towards in Quantity Surveying / Construction.
• Some experience in a construction or commercial environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of JCT / NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tenders, budgets, cost plans & cashflow forecasting.
• Attend site visits & meetings, maintaining accurate records.
• Support contract administration, including variations, valuations & final accounts.
• Contribute to cost management & monthly CVR reporting.
• Assist with procurement & subcontractor engagement.
• Help track materials, changes, and commercial performance.
