Job summary

Aatom Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Solicitor Procurement on behalf of a Local Authority. The role focuses on procurement, contracts and general Local Government matters, with hybrid or remote work and a 37-hour week.

You will advise on procurement and contractual issues, draft documentation, and, when needed, represent the Council in courts and tribunals. This 3-month contract requires strong legal skills, professional judgment, and the ability to collaborate with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong legal expertise in Procurement and Local Government law.
• Ability to lead by example and take responsibility for standards.
• Excellent judgement and the ability to inspire confidence in clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on Procurement, Contracts and governance for Local Government.
• Draft procurement documents, contracts, statutory orders and related materials.
• Represent the Council in Court, Tribunals, hearings and inquiries when required.
