Job summary

untypical is seeking an Assistant Site Manager for the Delapre Point project in Northampton. The role concentrates on health and safety, coordinating trades, and delivering excellent customer service on a 217-home residential development.

You will support the Site Manager, oversee site resources, ensure procedures are followed, and liaise with the Sales Team for show homes and build/sales meetings. NVQ4 in construction management and safety certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Management or equivalent.
• CSCS – Gold supervisor and SMSTS certification.
• First Aid at Work certification and basic fire safety awareness.
• Experience coordinating trades and supervising on-site labour alongside delivery targets.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Manager in coordinating trades, directing labour and materials.
• Attend Build/Sales meetings with Sales Team and ensure procedures are followed.
• Deputise for Site Manager when required and support resource planning.
• Ensure HSE compliance and promote safe working practices on site.
• Secure customer service excellence and maintain strong client relations.

About The Role

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join our team and based on our residential development at Delapre Point, Ransome Road (NN4 8DE) on a permanent contract. Delapre Point is an exciting new neighbourhood of thoughtfully designed 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in Northampton. This carefully planned community of 217 homes is just a mile from Northampton’s vibrant town centre.

The Assistant Site Manager will help to manage a volume residential housebuilding programmes with a focus on Health and Safety, Contractors and Customer Service.

Duties Include

• Support the Site Manager in coordinating trades, and directing labour and materials to meet the production programme
• Work in conjunction with the Sales Team to ensure that regular Build/Sales meetings are attended, all Build/Sales procedures are adhered to, and inspections of all show homes are carried out
• Accept responsibility for such duties and responsibilities as the Site Manager may determine; and as and when required, deputise for the Site Manager
• Support the Site Manager in ensuring that the on-site Construction team is fully resourced and well-directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities
• Provide full support to site workers in achieving their job responsibilities through communication, training and development, and the organisation of the site’s workload and resources
• Be responsible or delivering excellent customer service in line with company guidelines
• Implement and comply with Safety, Health, and Environment policy and procedures, all legal requirements, and established best practice
• Develop an organisational culture within projects that embodies the company values
• Establish and maintain the best relationship with the client, through and beyond construction to satisfactory completion, and deliver improved value to the client and company

About You

• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Management or equivalent
• CSCS – Gold supervisor
• SMSTS
• First Aid at Work
• Scaffold Inspection Basic - CISRS
• BREGS or willingness to achieve in probation period
• Fire Safety for low-rise flats and housing or willingness to achieve during probationary period
• Environment Supervision in Construction Training – SSP (SEATS)
• Experience of working to an established build programme
• Coordination and supervision of a site based labour force
• Successfully working to delivery targets within residential development
• Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs
• In depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction trade and the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Health and Safety, NHBC requirements and Building Regulations
• Good knowledge, understanding and experience of dealing with issues relating to Customer Service
• Proficient IT skills – Office, Word, Excel
• Full UK Driving License
