Job Summary

To efficiently manage the field operations, including controlling sub‑contractors day‑to‑day operations and ensuring that material supplies are available in conjunction with the Site Manager. Assist the Site Manager in the planning and programming of site activities to ensure the work is completed safely. Deputise for the Site Manager where necessary and manage quality standards to meet customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Organisation and control of labour and sub‑contractors.
  • Completion of weekly planning sheets to ensure the overall build programme is met.
  • Provide direction to individual contractors and contract management to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Co‑ordinate with the Site Manager to ensure the availability of materials to meet the construction programme.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure all site personnel comply with the Construction Health and Safety Regulations 1974 as amended together with the Taylor Wimpey Health and Safety Procedures Manual; carry out frequent inspections of operations; ensure operatives work to method statements and risk assessments; comply with site‑specific environmental action plan.
  • Sales: Liaise daily with the Sales Executive regarding customer options and variations; liaise with the Sales Executive, Buying Department and sub‑contractors regarding the supply and installation of customer choices; coordinate with the Sales Executive on resolution of customer issues.
  • Site Inspection: Plan and arrange visits for House Builders Council inspections and Local Authority statutory services; accompany inspectors during visits.
  • Customer Care: Assist the Site Manager in completing the Home Quality Inspection (HQI) prior to Customer Relations Manager HQI sign‑off; ensure that the house is defect‑free, clean and ready for occupation; assist with post‑legal‑completion visits to ensure customer satisfaction; undertake regular inspections and complete snagging lists; ensure contractors work to issued drawings, company specification and trade conditions.
  • Site Presentation: Assist the Site Manager in applying company operating framework and franchise rules in respect of street scene, etc.
  • Control of Work: Ensure the availability of required waste disposal skips and tip skips; ensure sub‑contractors and direct labour separate waste in accordance with company policy.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
  • Trade background.
  • NVQ Residential Construction Site Supervision Level 4.
  • Detailed knowledge of building process, including NHBC and Building Regulations.
  • First aid qualification.
  • CSCS card holder at Manager/Supervisor level.
