Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with several operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Retail, Housing and Maintenance. We employ over 250 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland.

As we continue to grow and secure exciting new projects, we are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in site management, gain hands‑on experience, and work alongside experienced Site Managers on a variety of projects across Scotland.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Site Manager in ensuring housing projects are completed safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest standard of workmanship.
  • Coordinating and supervising subcontractors on site, including trades specific to housing developments.
  • Assisting with site documentation, progress reports, and programme monitoring.
  • Contributing to site meetings with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring compliance with housing specifications, drawings, and building regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate site records and assisting with cost control.
  • Promoting and fully embracing the company's Customers 1st campaign to continually improve the way we deal with our residents and clients.
Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates should:

  • Have experience working in a site-based construction role, ideally as a Trainee or Assistant Site Manager on housing or residential projects.
  • Have strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Be IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project experience advantageous).
  • Show enthusiasm to progress their career in site management within a leading main contractor specialising in housing.
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of Health & Safety and quality standards relevant to housing developments.
  • Preferred knowledge of NHBC and BC would be an advantage.
