Job summary

York-based housing developer is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to oversee a 2-5 bed new build project. The role requires strong leadership on a busy site and delivery to NHBC standards. Applicants must have SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS and a track record with national housebuilders.

Start ASAP. This temporary position may lead to further opportunities. You will report to the Contracts Manager and coordinate trades, inspections and safety compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as an Assistant Manager on new build housing sites.
• Proven experience running/assisting sites for recognised UK housebuilders.
• Up-to-date SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to the Company quality standards including management of defects and conformance with specs and schedules.
• Helping keep site clean and tidy and coordinating the site team.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure build programmes are achieved.
• Manage trades, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety, NHBC standards and company procedures.
• Coordinate with inspectors and stakeholders; lead snagging and handover standards.
• Maintain Health & Safety plan, site facilities, and documentation; attend meetings.
