Assistant Site Manager - Commercial Refurbishment | Yeovil, Somerset | Permanent Role

We’re working with a respected main contractor who are seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join their team on a commercial refurbishment project in Yeovil. This is a permanent position offering stability, career progression, and the opportunity to work on a high‑profile scheme within a well‑structured and supportive team.

The Role

As Assistant Site Manager, you’ll play a key part in helping deliver a fast‑paced refurbishment project from start to finish. You’ll support the Site Manager with day‑to‑day operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting in the coordination of subcontractors, materials and site logistics
  • Supporting health & safety management and maintaining compliance on site
  • Monitoring progress and quality of works
  • Helping manage site documentation and reporting
  • Liaising with the project team, suppliers, and stakeholders to keep everything running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a site‑based role within construction – ideally refurbishment, fit‑out, or commercial build
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with good attention to detail
  • CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
