Job description
Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of high-quality residential developments in the Leicester area. The successful candidate will work closely with the site management team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of the construction site.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site operatives to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings to promote a strong health and safety culture.
  • Monitor programme progress and support the management team in achieving project milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, permits, and progress reports.
  • Assist in quality control, inspecting works to ensure adherence to plans, drawings, and standards.
  • Support the Senior Management team with temporary works, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with consultants, inspectors, and other stakeholders as required.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in residential construction, ideally in traditional or timber-frame projects.
  • Relevant construction qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 4/6 in Construction Site Supervision or Site Management, SMSTS/SSSTS).
  • CSCS card (Gold or equivalent) and a full UK driving licence.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and site procedures.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
