Overview

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager on a 3 month contract based in Norfolk.

Role Summary

To assist the site manager acting as TP137 cover on site when the site manager is not on site and to supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.
  • Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed
  • Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety
  • Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner
  • To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels
  • To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively
  • To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team
  • To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions
  • To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded
  • Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.
  • Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings
  • Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig
  • Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence
  • National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8
  • IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS
  • CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the T&D industry, preferably on National Grid sites
  • Relevant previous experience at a supervisory level
  • HSG47
  • CITB TWS or TWC
  • First Aid
  • Previous TP137 or SR163 experience

Desirable

  • HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering
  • Formal Electrical training
  • Impressed Voltage training
  • IOSH environmental or equivalent
Physical Requirements

Site based role. Must have the ability to safely manoeuvre around a construction site including uneven and rough terrain on foot for up to 10 hours per day.

For the office element they must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds.

Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems; the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities; the ability to read and apply financial and quantitative analysis; the ability to articulate and speak in front of others; the ability to work under stressful situations, good cognitive skills, ability to maintain accuracy in work, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time. Must have the ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions and the ability to delegate instructions

Schedule and Travel

12 days on 2 days off with travel to client.

Travel
Ability to travel nationally is required for the role. Level of travel may vary over time depending on project and client requirements, but expectation is up to 100% of working time spent travelling per year depending on project location
