Overview

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, who specialise with the Energy from Waste (EfW) industry, to recruit for an Assistant Shift Team Leader to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Runcorn, Cheshire.

This key operational role offers a salary of £48,014 per annum, plus shift allowance, annual bonus, and an excellent range of company benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the shift team to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, acting as Authorised Person under the site's Safe System of Work.
  • Support maintenance planning and execution to maximise plant performance and availability.
  • Respond to operational incidents, conduct investigations, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the site to ensure effective communication and smooth handovers between shifts.
Professional qualifications
  • Proven experience in an energy from waste plant, power station, or similar process environment.
  • A recognised engineering qualification, ideally ONC/HNC level or equivalent.
  • A safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating operational or maintenance personnel is advantageous.

Salary and benefits

£48,014 per annum plus shift allowance and annual bonus opportunity.

40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, including nights.
