A leading healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Band 5 Assistant Service Manager for its Radiology department. This role involves supporting the Service Manager with daily operations and staff development, while also managing specific areas within the service. Radiology is a high-demand, multi-site service that delivers thousands of diagnostic appointments each week. To keep pace with rising demand and ensure patients receive a safe, efficient service, we are looking for a Band 5 Assistant Service Manager to join our leadership team.
As one of two ASMs in Radiology, the post holder will work closely with the Service Manager to support the day-to-day running of the department. The role is central to maintaining an effective and resilient administrative workforce, developing staff, and helping deliver service improvements that support both departmental and Trust priorities.
The post holder will support the Service Manager in ensuring the service is meeting both department objectives and the strategic corporate objectives of the organisation. The post holder will be operationally responsible alongside another Assistant Service Manager for designated areas within the service and will provide management support to administration staff within Radiology. The two Assistant Service Managers will deputise, where appropriate for the Service Manager in their absence. The Assistant Service Managers are responsible for the operational delivery of a range of functions in the Radiology Care Group and line managing groups of Admin and Clerical specialists and leaders.
