Role Overview
NC Associates are working with a market‑leading property organisation based in Manchester who are looking to recruit an Assistant Service Charge – Client Accountant to help support the service charge accounting team with all aspects of service charge accounting within various property portfolios. The company has grown considerably over the past two years and for the right individual can offer long‑term development within service charge / client accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Updating & maintaining property, lease & occupier’s data in Property Management Systems; preparation of completion statements, rent review & interest calculations.
- Billing of service charges, rents, voids, recharges, credits, insurance charges to tenants / occupiers or clients.
- Handling onboarding and off‑boarding or handovers of any new or outgoing instructions to relevant external parties.
- Producing, reconciling, analysing, apportioning and closing year‑end service charges in accordance with RICS guidelines.
- Preparing service charge cash reconciliations on an annual basis, reporting & investigating any outstanding issues.
- Assisting the surveying team with service charge budgeting.
- Reconciling monthly client & tenant deposit bank accounts, addressing any outstanding positions & backlogs.
- Preparing and submitting financial reporting, owner statements, VAT reports, cash‑flows, net operating income and other reports as required by the client.
- Providing client accounting leadership for all properties and portfolios under management, supporting asset management strategies, funding positions and client objectives in accordance with the PMA and other guidelines.
- Monitoring statutory and internal compliance, including meeting company policies and procedures, RICS and ISO standards and any statutory timelines and escalation requirements.
Essential Experience Required
- Previous experience working within a similar role in property is desirable.
- Proactive & organised – able to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Analytical & detail‑oriented – strong problem‑solving skills.
- Personable & easy‑going – a team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
