A local government authority in Wales is seeking an Assistant Risk Manager to take charge of operational risk management functions including insurance and claims handling. The role involves supporting the Risk Manager and overseeing policies and incident investigations while working in a dynamic environment that may require flexibility in working hours. The post holder will have daily operational and development responsibility for the Risk Management service. The post holder will support the Risk Manager in the delivery of the Service Unit functions and have specific responsibility for policies and procedures in relation to operational and strategic Risk Management, Insurance, Incident and Claims Investigations and Claims Handling. Additional functions will include deputising for the Risk manager, providing support in the planning and delivery of event safety, Emergency Planning and Response, Corporate Governance, promoting the service and supporting the Manager in the development and implementation of Service Risk Registers and Business Plans.
