Qualifications

  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) required.
  • Relevant accounting experience is necessary.
  • Understanding Capital Investment Process is an advantage.

Assistant Regulatory Accountant (Capex)

The Assistant Regulatory Accountant plays a vital role in the Finance team, contributing to operational excellence and strategic delivery. The role supports key financial processes and ensures compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across systems and reporting.

Working closely with stakeholders, this role involves managing workflows, supporting system improvements, and delivering insights that drive business decisions.

You will also complete regulatory returns in relation to capital expenditure for Annual Performance Reporting, Price Reviews and other regulatory consultations.

Key responsibilities
  • Support and improve financial systems and processes

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and data management

  • Collaborate with internal teams and our economic regulator Ofwat to deliver financial insights and key external reporting

  • Maintain compliance with financial regulations and standards

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency

  • Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders

  • Help develop and improve the existing capital accounting policies manual

  • Support Group Tax with HMRC submissions and enquiries by providing background documentation, analysis and calculations

  • Provide expertise to strategic investment boards on the accounting impact of proposed investments
