Job summary

Howells Solutions Limited is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a social housing reactive maintenance team in East London. The role focuses on repairs, voids and disrepair projects within the social housing sector, offering hands-on commercial exposure in a busy contractor environment.

You will support subcontractor management and payments, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and work to tight deadlines with a flexible approach. Previous NHF Schedule of Rates experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience on repairs & maintenance contracts in a junior/assistant QS role or Commercial Administrator.
• Social housing experience on reactive maintenance/voids contracts is ideal.
• Experience managing subcontractors and subcontractor payments.
• Thorough and meticulous with an eye for detail.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and stay flexible.
• Experience with NHF Schedule of Rates.

Responsibilities

• Work on reactive maintenance, voids and disrepair projects within the Social Housing sector.
• Manage subcontractors and payments to ensure timely, accurate settlements.
• Prepare and monitor commercial aspects of contracts to support project delivery.

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 DOE

Based in East London

We are working with a leading Property Services Contractor to find a successful and proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in East London. We are looking for an individual to work on reactive maintenance, voids and disrepair projects within the Social Housing sector.

About You

• We are looking for the successful candidate to have previous experience of commercial activity on a repairs & maintenance contracts in a junior/assistant QS position or Commercial Administrator
• Social housing experience is ideal working on reactive maintenance/voids contracts
• Experience with managing subcontractors / subcontractor payments
• Thorough and meticulous person with an eye for detail
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a flexible attitude to work task and workload
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Experience working with NHF Schedule of Rates.
