Job summary

An established Building & Civil Engineering contractor is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role based in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will assist with Sub-Contract agreements and prepare Interim Valuations, among other responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be working towards a BSc in Quantity Surveying and possess strong analytical and communication skills. This role offers real career progression in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Relevant industry experience ideally preferred.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Assisting on Sub-Contract agreements maximising profit
  • Attending, contributing to, and minuting Internal Team Meetings
  • Keeping master files of correspondence on contract
  • Preparing Interim Valuations with Senior Surveyor and agreeing amounts for payment
  • Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract variations
  • Valuing variations
  • Pricing
  • Reporting to Senior Surveyor on job performance via cost/value comparisons
  • Preparing Surveying Reports
Qualifications & Requirements
  • BSc Quantity Surveying, or equivalent (or working towards achieving)
  • Relevant industry experience (ideally)
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills
  • A methodical approach
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in relevant computer programmes (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
