Job description

Overview

I am recruiting for an established Tier 1 construction business on a new Prison scheme near Newton Abbot.

The project is a long term redevelopment of an existing prison facility with both elements of new build and refurbishment works alongside complex M&E packages and groundworks and civil engineering works.

Responsibilities

• Work with the estimating and bid teams to firm up prices and costs for each package based on the initial bids.
• Compile a working scope of works and bill of quantities for each package and work with the supply chain to establish how each phase will be delivered.
• Place orders, arrange pre-start meetings and then manage the scheme in conjunction with the delivery team.
• Carry out the standard QS role of valuations, payments, re-measures, managing variation accounts, CVRs and weekly, monthly reporting and forecasting through to final account, all under the supervision of a Senior QS who will assist with training and development.
