Overview

ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR - CIVIL ENGINEERING

Salary £30-43,000. 4% guaranteed bonus. Car allowance. 26 days annual leave plus additional long service entitlement. Business travel. Pension scheme. Employee benefits.

Role

Predominantly site-based, assisting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a multimillion-pound highways scheme in Guildford, Surrey.

The scheme is set to run to the end of 2027, with the main work comprising bulk earthworks, surfacing and kerbing works, including a greenfield / brand-new road. There is also a bolt-on scheme, which is a highway improvement, and further works are being tendered on site with a further 3 years\' work.

Responsibilities

• Support a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a multimillion-pound highways project by helping manage cost control, commercial reporting, and procurement activities.
• Assist in commercial processes on site, including measurement, valuation, subcontractor liaison, and contract administration as part of a growing civil engineering team.
• Contribute to the delivery of bulk earthworks, surfacing and kerbing works, and related highway improvements on the main scheme and bolt-on works.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC level or above in a construction-related discipline, or working towards a qualification.
• 1 year plus recent experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (does not have to be in the civil engineering sector).
