A family-run contractor in Surrey is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in surveying or construction management is desirable.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts is advantageous.

We are working with a family-run contractor in Surrey who are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This role offers excellent hands-on exposure to live projects while working closely with the Commercial Manager, giving you the opportunity to build your skills and progress your career within a supportive environment.

The Role:

  • Prepare applications for payment and track client notices
  • Assist with budgets, cost monitoring, and monthly reporting
  • Support subcontract procurement, payments, and final accounts
  • Help manage variations, delays, and contractual matters
  • Carry out site visits to monitor progress, record variations, and liaise with project teams
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues

About You:

  • Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in surveying or construction management (desirable)
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts (advantageous)
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
