Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Exeter team on site across South West projects. You will participate in cost reporting, subcontract procurement, and administration of subcontract works packages while maintaining value and profitability.

You will work with our Commercial team to support monthly payment applications, compiles schedules of value, and assist in change management and Compensation Event Quotations under the contract framework.

Responsibilities

• Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
• Use Oracle software tools to accurately report cost and value to the business unit.
• Interpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
• Be involved in the procurement of Subcontract partners including preparation of bid enquiry documentation and critical evaluation of bids.
• Produce Subcontract documentation.
• Assist in the production and issue of commercial notices, to both the Client and Subcontractors, as required by the form of contract and the law.
• Assist in the management of change in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations and the maintenance of detailed schedules of value.
• Provide information to the Commercial team to assist in the production of monthly payment applications to the Client.

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team at Galliford Try.

You will work on multiple projects across the South West working on site.

• Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
• Use the latest Oracle software tools to accurately report cost and value to the business unit.
• Interpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
• Be involved in the procurement of Subcontract partners including preparation of bid enquiry documentation and critical evaluation of bids.
• Produce Subcontract documentation.
• Apply the principles of ‘Doing the right thing’ in maximising value and profit.
• Administration of subcontract works packages including, interim assessments of the amount due and change management.
• Assist in the production and issue of commercial notices, to both the Client and Subcontractors, as required by the form of contract and the law.
• Assist in the management of change in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations and the maintenance of detailed schedules of value.
• Provide information to the Commercial team to assist in the production of monthly payment applications to the Client.
