Assistant Quantity Surveyor required in Essex

GVR Solutions are currently representing a well‑established main contractor who works on both new build and refurbishment projects based within London and the Southeast. They are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is degree qualified and has a minimum of 1 year’s experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for an established main contractor.

As a main contractor they mainly work on projects in the Commercial, Light industrial, Community, Education, Healthcare, Ecclesiastical and Leisure sectors with project values up to £10m.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:
  • Assist in tendering process at all stages
  • Sub‑contract Tendering
  • Cost Control
  • Cost reporting
  • Liaise with all Internal teams
  • Attend project meetings
  • Assist with procurement
  • Final Accounts
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor must have / be:
  • Hold a Quantity Surveying degree or Construction Management degree
  • Ideally a minimum of 1 year’s experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Relevant IT skills
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills
  • A good knowledge of Maths
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confident, articulate and a critical thinker
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Willing to undertake training and development when needed
