Job description

We are recruiting an Assistant Psychologist within our Community Therapies Service. The post will include supporting audit and research activity, literature review, and reviewing patient notes. There will be direct clinical work delivered to individual patients or as part of a group.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake psychological assessment of service users including reviewing patient notes, self‑report measures, rating scales and semi‑structured interviews with patients, family members and others involved in the service user’s care. This work involves a high degree of concentration and mental effort over extended periods of time. The administration of psychometric measures requires a high degree of hand‑eye dexterity.
  • To undertake individual therapeutic work with service users in collaboration with the practitioner psychologist and some independently with regular supervision and support from the practitioner psychologist.
  • To produce concise, comprehensive psychological reports following assessment, under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
  • To attend and contribute to appropriate multi‑disciplinary meetings.
