Job summary

PJ Care in Milton Keynes is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist. You will work under supervision to perform psychological assessments, use psychometrics and self-report measures, and contribute to care plans within a 24-hour nursing, MDT environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s in psychology or equivalent and prior experience as an Assistant Psychologist or carer in neurological care. We offer supervision, development opportunities and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or equivalent is essential.
• Experience as an Assistant Psychologist or carer in resident care with adults who have neurological conditions, including dementia or brain injury, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a broad range of psychological assessment including psychometrics, self-report measures and rating scales.
• Conduct direct and indirect structured observations monitoring mood, anxiety and behaviour; report and chart progress.
• Assist in the formulation and delivery of psychological support plans; review reports for residents.
• Be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
