Brainkind is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to support the neuro-rehabilitation programme in Ely. You will work under the clinical supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, helping with assessments, data collection, and reporting.

The role offers a 12-month FTC and a salary up to £28,392 pro rata per annum, with a strong emphasis on training, CPD, and team collaboration within Fen House and Brainkind.

Qualifications

• Upper Second Class Honors Degree (2:1) in psychology or equivalent.
• Eligibility for BPS graduate registration.
• Experience of working with adults with complex disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological support under supervision to the neuro-rehabilitation programme.
• Conduct behavioural monitoring with data collection and analysis.
• Support weekly meetings and activities for service users.
• Maintain outcome measures and contribute to progress reports for reviews.
• Deliver group work (e.g. anger management and life skills).
• Train and support staff during induction and weekly tutorials.

Assistant Psychologist **FTC 12 months**

Fen House provides rehabilitation for people with a wide range of acquired brain injury difficulties and neurological conditions. We are a dynamic unit, which offers many opportunities for Assistant Psychologists to develop their clinical, neuropsychological and team working skills within our interdisciplinary team, which comprises physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, occupational therapy and health and care staff. Our Assistant Psychologists have opportunities at Fen House and within Brainkind, to develop competencies in evaluating the effectiveness of our rehabilitation programmes and to contribute to research projects when available. Brainkind offers a wide range of general training and there are also further opportunities for continuous professional development (CPD) within Fen House and the broader organisation.

MAIN PURPOSE:

To work under the clinical supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to provide psychological support to the neuro-rehabilitation programme at our Service in Ely.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Lead to provide assistance in:

• Behavioural monitoring with observations, data gathering and subsequent analysis.
• Collection and presentation of behavioural data for weekly clinical team meeting.
• Behavioural modification with writing and maintaining behavioural guidelines with support to the wider staff team in their implementation.
• Neuropsychological assessments with the production and presentation of findings.
• Supporting individual service users with weekly meetings and specific activities.
• To maintain and provide those outcome measures identified within the agreed annual schedule.
• To produce behavioural and emotional progress reports for Review Meetings and present these.
• Group work (e.g. anger management and life skills).
• Training and support of the wider staff team both on induction and written weekly tutorial sessions.
• Liaison role between Clinical Lead, Clinical Team and wider staff team regarding understanding and implementation of behaviour management programme.
• To undertake any other duties as may from time to time be specified by Brainkind, that are within the level and responsibility appropriate to the grade of the post.

• Ability to present and teach others
• Ability to work independently and reliably
• Experience of working with adults with complex disabilities
