Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our forensic child and adolescent mental health service, which offers forensic mental health services to children aged 0‑18 within community and secure settings. The service is psychologically informed, formulation driven and is working on a strategy to be truly trauma‑informed in all aspects of service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Be part of a National FCAMHS Randomised Controlled Trial using Mentalisation Based Therapy with young people presenting with violence and/or aggression, collecting, analysing and reporting data to inform the research.
  • Support research by collating and analysing data, and reporting findings to inform service delivery and development across pathways.
  • Collaborate with the Principle Psychologist and wider psychology network, receiving supervision and support.
  • Collaborate with the Research Team to implement research initiatives and provide ongoing support to the research implementation.
  • Contribute to audits and data analysis that inform service delivery and development across the FCAMHS pathways.
  • Provide support and interventions across FCAMHS pathways for children aged 0‑18.
  • Take advantage of further training and professional development opportunities within FCAMHS and specific to the research.
Working Hours & Conditions
  • 30 hours per week, interim position for 2 years.
  • Based in Wakefield; travel required across the region.
  • Working hours 9 am‑5 pm, Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements possible.

  • The role does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship set by UK Visas and Immigration; sponsorship is not available at present.
