A leading mental health service provider in Salford is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to support their psychology service within adult acute mental health wards. The role involves conducting biopsychosocial assessments and facilitating psychologically informed groups under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist position within Salford Acute Mental Health Services for adults of working age. The successful applicant will work as part of the psychological service provision within the adult acute mental health wards and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit at Meadowbrook. The successful applicant will support the work of the Psychology service across four mental health wards at Meadowbrook unit. They will work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist and with the operational support of Acute Care management.
This role will involve, under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, completing biopsychosocial assessments and psychological formulations with service users and staff members. They will co‑facilitate psychologically informed groups along with colleagues from other professional groups such as nursing and Occupational Therapy. The successful applicants will be involved in service development, evaluation and audit relating to the Psychology service. There will also be opportunity for provision of training to multidisciplinary colleagues.
