Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to advance your skills as an Assistant Psychologist within a physical health setting.

The successful candidate will join an established specialist community neurology team in West Norfolk, working collaboratively with specialist healthcare professionals, including assistant practitioners, neurology nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

Under supervision of a registered HCPC clinical psychologist, the candidate will support the multidisciplinary team with the psychological needs of patients with a variety of neurological injuries and progressive conditions in the community.

This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in delivering assessment, formulation, and intervention with individuals, their loved ones, and groups, and would best suit a dynamic, motivated individual with a passion for using psychological knowledge to improve people's lives.

Responsibilities

The post holder will join our specialist multi-disciplinary team in providing assessment and tailored interventions to adults with acquired or traumatic brain injury and progressive neurological conditions.

The post holder will have opportunities to deliver both individual and group therapy, under the supervision of an HCPC Registered Principal Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist.

The post holder will work directly with patients and families and will also work indirectly to advise the multi-disciplinary team, e.g., providing advice on psychological management of patients and rehabilitation approaches. There will also be opportunities to assist with the planning and facilitation of groups.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have experience as an Assistant Psychologist and a keen interest in developing their knowledge and experience in working with adults in a physical health setting.
