A local leisure organization is seeking a hands-on individual to assist in designing and developing a new Dog Sensory Garden at their facility in Lurgan. The ideal candidate will have experience in outdoor work, strong communication skills, and be comfortable around dogs. This is a temporary position offering up to 25 hours per week.

THE EMPLOYER IS: UNLEASHED DOG ADVENTURE PARKThe role is at Unleashed Dog Adventure Park located near Moira/Aghagallon. Applicants would need access to their own transport as there is no public transport.The role will support the design and development of a new Dog Sensory Garden, aimed at enhancing enrichment, sniff-work, exploration, and play opportunities for dogs visiting the adventure park.The role combines creative project design with practical outdoor work and customer engagement.The post holder will work closely with the two business owners to bring the sensory garden concept to life while also contributing to wider customer-focused projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the business owners in researching, planning, and designing the new dog sensory garden.
• Carry out basic hands-on construction and maintenance tasks related to the build of the garden, including: Digging, planting, weeding, and general ground preparation.
• Strimming, mowing, and basic landscaping. Cleaning, sanding, or preparing timber and other materials. Support general site maintenance to keep the dog park clean, safe, and welcoming.
• Provide a friendly, positive presence when interacting with customers and their dogs. Contribute to creating a welcoming experience for visitors.
• Help design and conduct a customer satisfaction survey to gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain a calm, positive attitude around dogs and people at all times.
• Answer customer queries and give information about park features and the new sensory garden project.
• Assist with simple computer-based tasks such as updating project notes, recording progress, or inputting customer survey results.
• Help with basic social media content, including taking photos, writing short updates, or sharing progress on the sensory garden project under guidance from the business owners.

Skills and Qualifications

• The applicant should have experience of hands-on outdoor work such as digging, planting, weeding, strimming, mowing etc.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience of posting on a range of social media.
• Be familiar and happy to work with dogs.
